Rules for Indoor Minyans

DOS has re-opened for services. The minyanim will be prioritized for  members first, (excess space can be used for adult family, guests, or non-members) and will accommodate 14 pre-registered men and 11 pre-registered women.

You must complete the Covid-19 questionnaire. sign the waiver, and register for the specific service you would like to attend to be allowed entrance to the building.

  • Masks must be worn at all times.
  • Your temperature will be taken upon entering the shul.
  • Disinfect your hands with the provided hand sanitizers upon entering the shul.
  • Bring your own tallis and siddur to shul to limit cross-contamination.
  • Sit in the same chair at each minyan you attend.

We have been diligently putting in place various measures to ensure the shul is as safe as possible.  To begin with REME HALO® in-duct air purifiers were recently installed in our air conditioning system.  These air scrubbers have been tested and proven to reduce airborne and surface bacteria, mold and viruses. These tests have studied a variety of contaminants. However, this does not mean that the possibility of Covid-19 has been eliminated from our shul.  Please remember that everyone has to evaluate their own risk before coming back to shul. If you feel there is still too much risk, please feel free to daven at home. There will be no provisions for outside minyanim, however, the weekday Minyan will continue to be available on Zoom

The safety of our community depends on you, so please adhere to all the conditions and directives that follow.

  • You should not come to the shul if you have any of the following conditions even slightly fever, coughing, shortness of breath, sore throat or sniffling.
  • You have been exposed to someone who is a possible Covid-19            carrier within the past 14 days.
  • You are experiencing a loss of taste or smell (potential symptoms of Covid-19).
  •  Anyone who has traveled in the past 14 days, unless they present a negative Covid-19 test result.
  •  You have any underlying health issues that put you at greater risk, i.e. heart disease, diabetes, immune-compromised, respiratory issues, etc.
  • Adults over 65 – this group has shown the greatest susceptibility to the virus, so please consult your physician to make sure that he/she feels that it’s prudent and advisable for you to attend. Your health and safety are paramount.

While in shul everyone will need to maintain a 10-foot distance from anyone not part of their quarantined family.  We will arrange the seats to ensure that this is complied with.  Reading of the Torah and all other related religious functions will follow halachic guidelines, as instructed by Rabbi Saunders.  No kiddushim will be held and no food or drink of any kind may be brought into or consumed in the shul.   We ask that you do not congregate outside the building either before or after services. We are also closing off the men's bathroom and only using the single occupancy women’s bathrooms for men and women at separate times.

Please sign the registration and waiver forms and return them to either the Rabbi in person or by email to or to David Heyden in person or by email to by

Failure to follow all of these guidelines will result in you not being able to enter the building, or being asked to leave the building, or the cancellation of the minyan.

Thank you for your co-operation.

Best wishes,

Dorri Goldman, President                                                          Zevi Saunders, Rabbi
